THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPETITIVENESS MODEL FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES

Abstract

The present work identifies determining components for the formation of an associative-type competitiveness model for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ecuador, becoming a key mechanism of the country’s economy. The growing importance of SMEs in the economic development of Ecuador has attracted the attention of several authors, who have investigated the role and impact in their competitiveness; where it identifies the necessary aspects for the development of associativity oriented to the strengthening of local enterprises, in which it constitutes a conceptual framework that supports its theoretical foundations and some important data related to associative and competitive. The methodology used is qualitative approach of descriptive method, with bibliographic design found in some research for data collection where the main theories and models related to business associativity and competitiveness are reviewed. To obtain this model where it is fundamental the ability of companies to collaborate and work together with other companies in order to improve their position in the market and greater competitiveness.
