REVITALIZATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR MSME'S POST-COVID-19: A STUDY AT COIMBATORE DISTRICT, TAMILNADU (AN ICSSR SPONSORED PROJECT)
MSMEs have long served as the foundation of the Indian economy. MSMEs are one of the main forces behind the Indian economy's growth story. The COVID -19 outbreaks is having a devastating effect on Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Businesses (MSME), which account for about 35% of India's manufacturing production. Coimbatore is one of the industrially developed and commercially vibrant districts of Tamil Nadu. There are more than 25000 MSME units. As part of the Atmanirbhar Bharath Abhiyan, the Indian finance minister published a number of relief measures for MSMEs. A framework for the revitalization of MSMEs has also been proposed as part of the study. The main aim of this study is to identify the revitalization opportunities for MSME in Coimbatore District, followed by an examination of the relief measures offered to MSME during post-COVID-19. From this data, a sample of 330 units was selected using the stratified sampling method. Simple percentage, Chi-square test and multiple regressions were used in this study. According to the findings, there is a positive relationship between government schemes and entrepreneur satisfaction. The majority of the businesses are aware and have implemented their plans. In this situation, MSME have not expected any borrowings, even at a low cost, and thus the government has failed to impress MSMEs, branding it frivolous and gimmicky. Although it is expected that the scheme will have a positive impact on the economy and support its revival, now much depends on the speed of implementation of the scheme announced.
