DEVELOPING MERDEKA LEARNING-BASED LEARNING MATERIALS AT ISLAMIC STATE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS IN GORONTALO PROVINCE

Abstract

This research focuses on the evidence-based problem that Islamic moral theology education in Islamic senior high schools is not as expected. Addressing the issue calls for researching and developing Islamic moral theology learning materials, which are envisaged to be Merdeka Learning-based. Learning materials were researched and developed using the ADDIE model. This research is aimed at (1) bringing to light how the condition of the Islamic moral theology learning materials used at state Islamic senior high schools in Gorontalo, (2) disclosing the quality of the Merdeka Learning-based learning materials used by tenth graders in Islamic senior high schools to learn Islamic moral theology, and (3) testing the product practicality and effectiveness of Merdeka Learning-based learning materials used by tenth graders at state Islamic senior high schools in Gorontalo to learn Islamic moral theology. The results demonstrated that (1) Islamic moral theology learning materials used by tenth graders at Islamic senior high schools were still considered ineffective, (2) the quality of learning model-based learning materials to learn Islamic moral theology was valid, (3) Merdeka Learning-based learning materials used by tenth graders at state Islamic senior high schools in Gorontalo were practical and effective, as exhibited by the test scores. In terms of learning material quality, the expert team gave the following mean scores: (1) 97.1 for the material aspects, (2) 95.5 for the language aspects, and (3) 96 for the media aspects. The test for learning material products resulted in the following mean scores: (1) 90.6 for practicality, as acquired from student assessments, and (2) 92.97 for effectiveness, as acquired from teacher assessments. The statistical test for learning outcomes through a pre-test and post-test resulted in an Asymp. Sig. < 0.05, i.e., .000.
