THE SOCIAL-BOUND ELDER TAKING CARE MODEL IN THE ORIGINAL REGION, THAILAND

Abstract

Background The elder care has become so vital nowadays since most country is stepping the elder society including Thailand. Objectives. The purpose of this study were to study the problems and the obstacles of the elder needs model for those who live in the original region and to create the guideline of developing the social-bound elder taking care model in the original region, Thailand. Methods. This study utilized a qualitative research with the in-depth interview research method, 20 key informants who were working as the informal care taker and the formal care taker. They were recruited using purposive sampling participated in semi-structured interviews. In the focus group phase, the key informants were consisted of 38 person those who were working in the public and the private section that related to the elder care in the original area in Thailand, and they were also recruited using purposive sampling. Results. The social-bound elder taking care model in the original region, Thailand were consisted of 1) Smart walk 2) Smart brain 3) Smart sleep & emotional 4) Smart eat 5) Smart economy 6) Smart money 7) Smart policy and 8) Smart spiritual
