MAINTAINING THE EXISTENCE OF TRADITIONAL JAMU “JAMU.ID” IN THE DIGITAL ERA OF SOCIAL CHANGE

Abstract

Jamu is the name for traditional medicine from Indonesia, especially the Javanese people. Herbal medicine is believed to be one of the medicinal efforts used by the community for: treating disease, preventing disease, maintaining body resistance, and for beauty purposes. The digital era is a condition in life where almost all activities that support life in various activities, especially data processing, can be facilitated by all-electronic technology. This study aims to: describe the factors that influence the existence of traditional herbal medicine "JAMU.ID", and efforts to maintain the existence of traditional herbal medicine "JAMU.ID" in an era of social change. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a feminist approach. Data collection techniques used: observation, interviews, and documentation, while the sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data validity in this study used source and time triangulation, data analysis used data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that traditional herbal medicine "JAMU.ID", still survives in the era of social change. The existence of traditional herbal medicine "JAMU.ID" can be demonstrated by businesses that are still operating today.
