Abstract

The scarcity of resources that occurs often creates conflict and has a bigger impact on women, both directly and indirectly. The purpose of this study was to find out the response of women in dealing with the scarcity of resources that occurred in Sumberagung village, Pesanggaran, Banyuwangi. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, in-depth interviews, and secondary data. Determination of the sample was done by purposive sampling technique. This study uses a qualitative analytical method using a Gender Analysis Matrix. The results of the study show that the scarcity of environmental resources has a greater impact on women due to the patriarchal nature of society. A patriarchal society causes women to increasingly lose access to resources and become the most marginal and vulnerable group. This was responded to by the enthusiasm of women in participating in the empowerment program initiated by PT BSI and the local government with the support of other stakeholders.
