Abstract

Both China and India's internal and foreign policies in the age after the end of the Cold War continue to be affected by those of the developed world. As a result of cooperating more closely in the battle against terrorism in Afghanistan, China and the United States have become closer friends. It has fundamentally altered the context in which China and India engage in conversation with one another. In the 1990s, economics were the primary driver of international politics; now, the danger posed by terrorism has brought people all over the globe together to form a coalition, which has left little opportunity for middle powers to pursue their own agendas.
