Abstract

The synthetic polymer is important that used in medical fields and drugs applications and it interested for selection material which can be happened to influence with performance and cost of product. The selection of drugs applications can be considered multi-criteria decision-making problem. This study focuses to determine the best appropriate biodegradable polymer that can be used in medical filed concerned with drug products by using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) as well as The Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). Five alternatives from application was considered which involved three main-criteria as material cost, mechanical properties and structure. In addition, sub-criteria represented by modulus, density, water permeability, elongation, crystallinity and biodegradation. In the two methods, PCL was the best relative choice for the applications of drugs as well as the rest of the results is the same in both methods.
