Abstract

This research focuses on one of the 14 royalty sectors from Performing Right sources, namely Music Concerts as regulated in Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 56 of 2021 in Article 3 paragraph 2, which is a form of commercial public service as referred to in paragraph (1) which includes one of them is a music concert where there is copyright for the song being sung. The low public awareness of song copyright is what prompted researchers to conduct this research. This research is a type of descriptive research by interpreting qualitative data where the type of research provides a picture or description of a situation as clearly as possible without any treatment of the object being studied. The object of research is in Jakarta as the center of the music industry in Indonesia from 2023 to 2024 which uses a combination of primary and secondary data. The results of the research on the first hypothesis are answered according to the limitations of available sources and time, in the second hypothesis the research problem is quite important to be done, in the third hypothesis the research problem is very interesting to be studied related to the musician community, in the fourth hypothesis the research topic has a strong theoretical basis, and in the fifth hypothesis the research topic has value to solve problems and make better changes. These results are expected to help society in general and musicians in particular to maximize knowledge about copyright.
