THE IMPACT OF BENEFITS AND CHALLENGES OF IOT ADOPTION ON ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE: MEDIATING ROLE OF SUPPLY CHAIN PERFORMANCE IN PHARMACEUTICAL SECTOR IN JORDAN
In Jordan, the pharmaceutical sector as manufacturing field has been a driving force in recent economic growth. So, new tools like the Internet of Things (IoT) are likely to have a strong impact on business processes and supply chain efficiency (SCP). However, there is a lack of studies aimed at recognizing how IoT implementation affects supply chains and business efficiency. So, this study aims to find out how the pros and cons of using IoT solutions affect businesses. The role of supply chain performance as a bridge between the pros and cons of using IoT and how well organizations work is also looked into. A total of 303 questionnaires will be disseminated to the respondents who were chosen from the population list of 1691 pharmaceutical organizations in Jordan. The study used simple linear regression to the direct effect hypotheses and Baron and Kenney's model to the mediation effect. The results of this paper support all of the hypotheses tested. In conclusion, the pharmaceutical companies in Jordan know what IoT can do for them and what problems it can cause. This study can be a guideline for pharmaceutical companies in their decision-making for IoT adoption. The limitations and recommendations for future study are highlighted.
