SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT SUCCESS MODEL OF TRUCKING BUSINESS IN THE EASTERN ECONOMIC CORRIDOR
The business environment has changed to be extremely competitive in order to meet the needs of customers. Supply chain management is therefore an important condition for the ability of a business to act. The purposes of this research are to investigate: 1) the level of the importance of factors affecting the supply chain management of the truck freight business in the Eastern Economic Zone; 2) Causal factors influencing the operation of the enterprise, including transportation management, logistics technology, traceability, and supply chain management of trucking businesses; and 3) propose supply chain management approaches for the truck freight business in the Eastern Economic Zone. This research uses mixed methods: quantitative research and qualitative research. In the quantitative research, geospatial sampling was used to select employees in the company about truck transport. By using a threshold of 20 times the observed variables, the size of the sample is not less than 320 people. The tool used is a questionnaire. Data analysis has used structural equation models. In the qualitative research, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 17 key informants, including executives, transportation operators, and users of transportation businesses. Findings revealed that: 1) the importance of factors affecting the supply chain management of the trucking business in the Eastern Economic Zone is great; 2) factors influencing the supply chain management of the truck freight business are in order, namely, the operations of the organization, transportation management, logistics, technology, and traceability; And 3) the supply chain management approach of the truck freight business in the Eastern Economic Zone involves reducing transportation costs through a process of storage and production, managing information through the adoption of information technology, and strengthening cooperation among traders for the movement of goods or services. Furthermore, it increases the competitiveness of the business group. The findings can be used to guide the application and effectively formulate a roadmap for trucking operators.
