EFFECT OF WORK DISCIPLINE AND WORK STRESS ON ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT AND EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE (STUDY AT PT. BANK BPD BALI GIANYAR BRANCH)

Abstract

Job stress is an important aspect for the company in relation to organizational commitment which will have an impact on employee performance.Employees who experience stress due to workload, risky work, relationship problems with coworkers and inability to manage family life which causes social problems will reduce their level of commitment to work and the company.Work discipline is very important for a company or government agency in order to realize the company's goals. Without good work discipline, it is difficult for a company to achieve optimal results. Good discipline reflects the magnitude of a person's responsibility for the tasks assigned to him. Respondents in this study were employee at PT. Bank BPD Gianyar Branch. The number of respondents in this study were 47 respondents using the Nonprobability technique, namely the saturated sample or often-called total sampling. This research uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis of SmartPls 3.2.8 program. The results of this study indicate that: 1) Work discipline has a positive effect on organizational commitment, 2) Work discipline has a positive effect on employee performance, 3) Job stress has no effect on organizational commitment, 4) Work stress has a negative effect on employee performance, 5) Organizational commitment positive effect on employee performance.
