COMMUNICATION OF WASTE MANAGEMENT POLICY IN BANDUNG CITY

Abstract

This study examines how the communication of waste handling policies in the city of Bandung focuses on communication carried out by the Bandung City Government with the aim of finding and inventorying various waste handling policies in the city of Bandung and uncovering and studying the implementation of waste handling policies through communication. The government of the City of Bandung. To reveal this reality, researchers use a constructivist research paradigm with a qualitative approach and case study method. The results of the study show that policy communication in waste management includes government communication carried out by the Regional Head together with regional apparatus starting from formulating various regional medium-term development plans (RPJMD) which make political promises during the initial campaign for the Mayor's leadership as well as the vision and mission of the elected Mayor-Deputy Mayor, thus highlighting the city's strategic issues in which the focus is on environmental and waste issues. Public communication is carried out in implementing waste management policy products through political, technocratic, participatory and top-down bottom-up approaches.
