Abstract

This study's objective is to establish the connection between independent variables, dependent variables, mediating variables, and control variables. The independent variables analyzed were the dimensions of corporate governance (CG), namely disclosure and transparency (DC), characteristics of the board of directors (BOD), shareholders and investor relations (SI), ownership and control structure (OC), and characteristics of top executive management (TEM) (TEM). The dependent variable is corporate performance (CP), the mediating variable is intellectual capital (IC), and the control variables are firm size and leverage. This study use panel data regression and Eviews 9.0 software for its analysis. Corporate governance (CG) has a direct impact on both corporate performance (CP) and intellectual capital, according to the findings of this study (IC). Intellectual capital (IC) is able to mediate the effect of corporate governance (CG) on shareholder and investor relations (SI) and top executive management (TEM) on corporate performance (CP), but Intellectual capital (IC) is unable to mediate the effect of corporate governance (CG) on disclosure and transparency (DC), characteristics of the board of directors (BOD), and ownership and control structure (OC) on corporate performance (CP) (CP).
